Instruction in world history in the so-called high schools is even today in a very sorry condition. Few teachers understand that the aim of studying history can never be to learn historical dates and events by heart and recite them by rote; that what matters is not whether the child knows exactly when this or that battle was fought, when a general was born, or even when a monarch (usually a very insignificant one) came into the crown of his forefathers. No, by the living God, this is very unimportant. The anesthetic state produced does not fit into the conventional classification of stages of anesthesia, but instead has been termed dissociative anesthesia in that it appears to selectively interrupt association pathways to the brain before producing somesthetic sensory blockage. In contrast to other anesthetics, protective reflexes, such as coughing and swallowing are maintained under anesthesia. Variations in body temperature may occur. Although some salivation is occasionally noted, the persistence of the swallowing reflex aids in minimizing the hazards associated with ptyalism. Single intramuscular injection usually has a wide margin of safety select patience. Fasting prior to induction is not essential; however, when preparing for elective surgery, it is advisable to withhold food for at least six hours prior to administration. Restraint in subhuman primate neonates is difficult to achieve. The recommended restraint dosages for the following are: Papio cynocephalus, Pongo pygmaeus, 5 to 735 mg/kg; Aotus trivirgatus 10 to 12 mg/kg, Macaca fascicularis 12 to 15 mg/kg. A single intramuscular injection produces restraint suitable for TB testing; radiography, physical examination or blood collection. To reduce the incidence of emergence reactions, subjects should not be stimulated by sound or handling during the recovery period. Apnea, respiratory arrest, cardiac arrest and death have occasionally been reported when used in conjunction with sedatives or other anesthetics. Close monitoring of patients is strongly advised during induction, maintenance and recovery. What people seem to not understand about Patriotism is that it's all over in this country. Even the people who think they're being unpatriotic are being extremely patriotic. Patriotic that is, in the sense that saying "Fuck America" is taking full advantage of our Bill Of Rights and our right to freedom of speech, thus celebrating and practicing American ideas.

I don't want to discount that there are people whose lives have been destroyed by drugs, Wilson continues, but are they the result of Timothy's research or or the result of government policies? Leary's research was dosed down, and the media stopped quoting him a long time ago. Most people don't even understand what Leary's opinions were or what it was he was trying to communicate. By contrast, the government's policies have been carried out for 30 years, and now we have a major drug disaster in this country. Nobody, of course, thinks it's the government's fault - they think it's Leary's for trying to prevent it, for trying to have scientific controls over the thing. He deserves a better legacy than that.

Friends
I have taken this section down completely bc the more I thought of it, the more annoying and seemingly pointless it became. Simply put if you are one of my closest friends, one of the people I really care about, chances are you konw who you are so there's no real point to this section. Plus the messages get outdated and I have a tendency not to update them so they tend to be rather irrelevant to how I feel towards the person at the given time. Thus they are gone.
